Cease Of Production
On October 25, 1999 WMS Gaming announced the closing of its pinball division. With much speculation surrounding the closure of the division, it is truly unclear what was the actual final decision. Speculation revolves around demanding stock holders seeing that WMS Gaming was a profitable slot business and an uncertain pinball company, operators not purchasing machines due to price increases, production numbers being down for the second game, Star Wars Episode 1, compared to the first game, Revenge From Mars, and more. All that is certain is that Williams/Bally pinball machines are no longer made, and when they exited the market, they left 1 single manufacturer left to start 2000, Stern Pinball.
